Are there many people on here running an external loop?
I see loads of builds with really good setups in the case, but not much external.

On my current system, I’m running on a pair of Alphacool 45x280 rads with a D5 pump in a custom enclosure.

I’ve got the centre 2 top outlets of the rads on about 2 metres of tubing and some quick release fittings. I put a connector for power on the back of the case to connect to, and use a usb type A connector plugged into the rear usb connectors rather that the usual internal usb connection the D5 next uses.

Thats a cool looking external setup. Love it.

I do use an external setup but went a cheeky prebuilt route in form of 720mm Aquaduct when it was on sale. Nice unit actually, built in fans, and full Aquero unit + multiple temp and water sensors. Couple of built in LEDs show at a glance temps too based on temp of the water. Most people do not realise its connected to PC and think its a fan / radiator in the room which I suppose it is. Runs from that unit into a pair of EK-XTOP Revo Dual D5 PWM in serial then up into the PC's loop. Only a 360mm in the case but under full load components can draw in excess of 1.5kw so the extra rad capacity was needed, but I loved my case too much. Works pretty well thanks to the Aquero unt which plugs into the PC and manages all the fans in the PC based on the water temp sensors.

Not got the build anymore but I used to hang a thick 84mm alpha cool rad out the window coupled with a few QD connected to my rig. Did have a photo of it but photobucket seemed to have deleted all my albums :/

Just finished my external loop on a phanteks evolve x. Water temp not going over 30c with a 5950x and strix 3090. Just need to get a surround of some sort for the internal display. Any ideas where I could get one from?

3D print something maybe?
How have you attached the radiator to the back of the case?
I used a pair of xspc 140mm radiator stands and bolted them with spacers to where the exhaust fan would be on my case. I’m not sure how I’d go about 3D printing. I’m hoping when lockdown finishes I can get something made from somewhere.
