External mirrored drives.

I've been looking at a few storage options for my digital photos. I came accross external mirrored hard drives by the likes of western digital.

What are peoples opinions on these?

depends if its going to be your only copy or not, remember mirroring is not a backup.

Its not going to be my only copy no, im likely to do periodic backups every month or important event and store it at my parents as I've noted your previous warnings about theft etc.

Its mainly to allow me some piece of mind during the transfer and editing process as ive had some horrific HD problems in the past.
