I've just got a USB Western Digital Passport (250gb). Do I have to "Safely Remove Storage" before I shut down ever day, or is that if you are just removing the drive when the computer is on?
Yes, as long as you don't turn off or disconnect the drive while Windows is running you don't need to use Safely Remove Hardware when shutting down (or rebooting).
