Extinction (Netflix original film)

It's getting massively slated in reviews and the thread in the US Forums section on here is also full of disappointed people.

Reminds me of a cross between Skyline and Battle: Los Angeles; both of which were terrible.

Another one to add to the increasing list of poop Netflix exclusive sci-fi films. I guess we'll see many more if Netflix continue to buy failed films.

Tried watching it...but it's just junk. Netflix need to go for quality, not quantity, in building up their library....but i guess having all these 'exclusive' movies to sell memberships with is more valuable to them.

Not watched this yet, but I haven't hated any netflix movies I've seen so far.

As long as they don't increase my subs they can keep pumping out mediocre movies with actors I recognise all month long.

Got 45 mins in last night before I got bored.

I was hoping the visuals might at least make it worth continuing with so I could test out my new 4K TV, but the special effects looked cheap as hell.

I am currently 30mins into it but I can't help but feel this is another 'Netflix clusteduck' film like This is how it Ends.

It is so dire already that I had to take a break after the 30mins just to glance at online reviews quickly. Not sure if I should continue - and I LOVED Skyline.

Yeah I lasted a further 10mins and ended up watching stuff elsewhere. It doesn't help that the entire cast was godawful to watch when compared to Skyline, and that hardly had a decent cast either!

Wasn’t bad in all honesty, I’ve seen worse lol.

Missus quite liked it, I wanted to strangle the kids though with their incessant mommy and crying ffs :p. At one point my missus was like stfu for gods sake and die:p

I thought it was OK. The plot is a bit derivative of many others ("The Animatrix" springs to mind immediately) but it was presented well. My wife and I were so browned off with the kids though that we ended up running a tally of how many times they'd nearly got their parents killed.
Given that the kids were synthetics, I can only assume that they'd been given defective or purposefully child-like 'brains' as they really were dumb as cow excrement. Saying that, some of the 'adult' decisions were beyond stupid. I know it's just a movie and needed for the plot but the end where Luke Cage, both kids and a couple of randoms get off the train to meet the parents...STOP to hug and then eventually realise it's a bad idea with armed soldiers running at them, was just plain ludicrous and pulled me out of the movie. The soldiers also need to go back to Mars for some more range time as none of them could hit Luke Cage all the time he spent running back to the train. :)
