Extra Hard drive,. can i install programs?

Hey guys,.

Quick question. I have a 1TB hard drive currently and I am quickly running out of space, especially with future games running at around 30gbs.

I need to buy a new hard drive,. probably a 2 or 3TB one. BUT i know windows is an absolute pain when it comes to technical stuff,. just a few weeks ago it refused to work when i upgraded my hardware and i had to reinstall it once again.

So,. if i insert this new hard drive,. will i be able to install new games and programs to it (With the OS not being installed on that particular hard drive) ??

Yes you can do that.

I would advise downloading a freeware from here: www.folder-size.com. Scan your drives with it, it will show you exactly where all your disk space is being used up.

Usually I find an old 10GB half downloaded torrent stuck in a temp folder somewhere

Yep, I have a SSD for most common used programs and operating system and a 1tb drive for the rest of the programs and games.

Yep, most programs ask where you want them installed so choose the relevant drive.
You can also add in new library locations in programs like steam.
