Hi

I currently have a 500gb SSD in this laptop and would like to add a 2GB one to increase storage.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a compatible SSD as I am not sure what to get.

Many thanks!!

No, it's a perfectly reasonable question for this forum. 'Laptops' might be better but you are asking about storage so here is fine.
Are you replacing the current SSD or adding a second? Is it 2.5" or M.2?

I would like to add a second drive and keep the original one in place.

I think its M.2.

You can pop any 2TB nvme drive in.
My Asus laptop which has a very similar PCB layout, got upgraded with a 2TB Samsung 980Pro. And yours (looking online) has exactly the same M.2 slot.

Most of the time, you can get away with popping the rear cover and just inserting the drive... The proper way is to remove the cover, disconnect the battery connector, hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain the motherboard, then insert the new drive.

Just to add, your laptop doesn't support pcie 4, only a max of pcie 3. So don't go wasting your money on a fast drive as it won't run at full speed. You can still buy a pcie 4 drive, but it will only run at pcie 3 speeds.

In case you haven't done this before, I'd recommend getting some opening picks for getting the laptop base off without leaving dents in the plastic: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ifixit-opening-picks-6-pack-cm-008-if.html

This is a good shout, because if your F15 is anything like my A15 then they are fiddly to pry open and requires some pry tools and a bit of patience.
When the laptop is flipped over, Asus has captured one of the screws on my model (bottom RH corner), this causes the corner to lift slightly and gives you starting place with the pry tool, it still needs a bit of care though.....Unless you dont care :D

Oh and the ifixit tool set is a nice handy kit to own also ;) I've got this one: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ifix...-including-screwdriver-64-bits-cm-004-if.html
But its certainly not a requirement, as all you need is a small philips.

Yeah the kit I got has been really useful, though it's pre-order for the next batch at overclockers which is less than ideal unless OP is willing to wait of course: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ifixit-prying-opening-tool-assortment-cm-010-if.html

Thanks everyone for your advice. I'll order these opening picks and this SSD from OCUK...

Cheers
