I currently have Virgin Media wires and wireless in the house plus some TP Link homeplugs. My house is a 1930 semi so fairly decent walls

The problem I have is the wireless range is not brilliant. The wireless router is in the bedroom which is an office however the signal is poor once I get to the kitchen and fairly nonexistent when I go into the attached garage.

I do have a TP Link range extender but to be honest it does not help.

So what I would like to do, if its available, is get a homeplug wireless access point. That way I should have the same coverage downstairs as I do upstairs. I assume I will end up with two SSIDs ie upstairs and downstairs.

Can anyone recommend a warless access point homeplug (not range extender) that will work with my existing TPLink homeplugs?

Any other advice would be good, ie you may have an alternative solution that I have not thought of

Here is a TP-Link model. There are a few others in the Powerline section. It all depends on what speed you want. I cannot remember now but I think it can mirror your current SSID and switch you between the two AP when the strength is better. Have a look on the TP-Link website and it will show you more info. sometimes they even have demo control panels you can play with first.

you are not looking at the same kits thats why. The one I have has a passthrough AC socket on the main powerline and then a wifi extender. the kit you are looking at has a nano powerline on the main one. We also do this model at the same price.
