Hi guys,

I have 3 Macrium image files with my old Vista OS's in them and I want to extract the wallpaper/s that I used on them. I know the default store for the built-in ones is windows/web/wallpapers but my custom backgrounds were added by right-clicking on the file and setting as background.

Any ideas on how (where) I'd find them in the .img files?

Thanks.

Somewhere like this, perhaps?
Code:
X:\Users\<name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\TranscodedWallpaper.jpg

Nope, nothing there :(

Isn't there a registry key that has the path of the current wallpaper?

it'll be under your user profile somewhere. can you not extract the whole user folder and then search for all .jpg files. or perhaps this software supports search within the image? i'm not familiar with it myself.

Bingo! Thanks all.

I open the image and just looked for *.jpg - found what I was after almost instantly ;)
