Any way I can do this, my ghetto laptop (it is truly ghetto, ducktape, bits of wire and disconnecting the keyboard to turn it on kind of ghetto) has finally decided to have a software malfunction.
Trouble is, where it is such a used and abused machine, the sticker is worn away, I don't have a recovery partition and I didn't burn the media either.
I have a disk to reinstall win 7 home premium, OEM but the key is extremely iffy, about 3 or 4 characters could be anything.

Is there any way, through command prompt or something I could access the key?

Cheers in advance gents.

produkey will allow you to read the key from an attached HD that was win on it
connect the hard drive to a working PC and use that to read out the key
