Extradition for copywrite infringement

Sure, what he did was naughty, but not illegal here. If our citizens are to be subject to US law, then it should work both ways, and anyone over there in posession of a handgun should be imprisoned.

Stupid extradition treaty is stupid.

An American holding a hand gun is not breaking uk laws.
A uk citizen hosting a website in Netherlands but having US advertising is breaking US law, the advertising servers and contracts are all American (assuming they are American, news don't like reporting the nitty gritty, but most advertising is American)

So how come the 'advertisers' that paid the alleged $230,000 get away with prosecution ?

They knowingly paid money to a dodgy website for the intention of making a profit ??

He should get the european court of human rights involved. If they can stop a baby killing terrorist getting extradited then this lad should get off pretty easy. ;)

How did they knowingly?
They don't look at each website. You simply sign up to a service agree to the T&Cs and stick the generated code in. Probably same reason sites like google can't be prosecuted.

Also the judge at the extradition hearing, respected the notion that it was not illegal in the UK and that it was not the same as previous hearings as he had far to much controll over the content. Where I assume but guessing previous case where user generated links and so deemed not illegal under UK law.

Would be next to impossible to prove that the US has an unfair justice system. Unlike the terrorists risk of torture.

Yes because we all know the US doesn't use torture as a method to extract confessions ;)
