Hi all,

Anyone had their 3dmark05 scores drop through the floor.

I have tried the system at 3gh, 3.2ghz and 3.4ghz and my card is reporting scores between 2000 and 4500marks. I have had it once produce 8500marks.

It's bios modded to 450mhz and 1100memory and have had it benching as high as 500mhz core and 1200mhz memory on previous platform.

If anyone has experience anything like this feedback is much appreciated.

reflash bios?

Was working fine on my x3800+ platform for over a year and 1/2?

Will try older drivers first perhaps and then go with reflashing route.

91.47's are good drivers for mine. I think i got 9200 marks with my 7800GT, it's been a while since ive gamed or benched. Could be driver though.

What system is it the one in your sig?

yeah it's the one in my sig. Tried running it between 3ghz and 3.4ghz.

Will try tonight with everything stock standard and see if I cam right. And ntune is a load of crap on XP. But maybe the XP on this raid0 and new motherboard is not quite happy?

I cant account for any other changes to your hardware or drivers, but on the 7000 series cards peeps found that if they overclocked high on stock or modded bios after XX time they card ran like crap, they had to reflash with original bios or their modded bios again and start fresh, not sure why.

Set everything to default lastnight and benched and it was around 8000 marks.

Overclock my system at 9x350 and it drops again to around 4500marks.

It's as though if I overclock the system the card performs like crap! Otherwise it's fine?

3DMark'05 is (I think) very CPU limited, are you sure it's the videocard that is the problem and not the CPU that is throttling or totally unstable?

Have you tested the stability of the CPU with a program like Prime95/Orthos/S&M ??

Yeah it primed for 12 hours straight at 3.4ghz?

I thought only 3dmarks2001 was really CPU and that laters have become more GPU dependant?

What you can do is run 3DMark'06 as that benchmark has a score that is gives an independant score for the videocard and the CPU so it should give info on what component is responsible for the low score when overclocked.

D'oh, if you must hold something can't you convince the gf there are other parts that are much more interesting to hold :D
