extremely slow usb copying windows 7

got the 64bit version of windows 7 ultimate installed about 2months ago and so far havnt needed to do any usb transfers, today i did and something is majorly up its taking about 10x longer than usual (it does complete with no errors) but its wasting my life!

whats up? is this a known problem?

Maybe try reinstalling the motherboard chipset drivers? Had one or two similar issues after W7 installed most of the drivers for me. I had to manually install the chipset drivers to get things working properly.
