Hey

I finally got round to getting my 3rd monitor today. Got it all set up and played some games but really not enjoying it. characters look chubby all the time and the graphics dont quite looks as nice, even on max. I have decided to return the monitor and cable but I have taken the plastic off the front of the monitor so I have sent OCUK a webnote to check this is all ok. waited ages for this and its rubbish!! :(

Charaters look chubby? the stuff on the middle screen should look exactly the same as if you were playing on one screen, then the left and rights for the peripherals. Doesn't sound like you have it set up right.

you need that widescreen gaming program that sorts the chubby character res problem out. go to widescreen gaming forums

i think this is it

what game/games are you playing that have chubbies? not old games with no widescreen support by anychance?

Nope it doesnt, looks much nicer wheh its not being streched. I deffo have it set up right. It not as bad with games like dirt 2 but black ops looks stupid. Tried with around 10 games now. Not all are supported such as mass effect 2, C&C 3 and a few others. Think ill return it and upgrade other aspects of my rig such as a ssd boot drive and a new samsung f3 1tb (needed after steam sales)

lol your resolution is the problem 5760x1080 is the best. also depends what game you play. some games have special options for multiple monitors.

If you had it set up right, I don't think you'd be having these issues. It really doesn't sound like it's set up right at all, that or you're choosing the wrong resolution settings or something. I've got a 5870 with 3 24" monitors and I don't get this problem you're talking about.

Best thing for you to do is take some photos or screenshots and post them here so we can see what's actually going on.

It sounds like this is the problem you're having http://www.crunchgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/eyefinity.jpg.

ok, that worked much better on black ops with the patch, do all games need patched to work right? also is there a way where I can create profiles rather than keeping on eyefinitty whilst web browsing as its a pain!

Quite a few games support ultra widescreen, but very few do it properly. The best two I have played have been Dirt 2 and HAWX 2, but even they are far from perfect. I now prefer gaming on a single monitor @1920x1200 than my old 3x 1680x1050 setup. The problem is that all of the action occurs within the middle monitor and the rest is just for peripheral effect.

Saying that, some strategy games worked pretty well where you could seperate the command menus onto a single screen.

What are all these games you've played that don't work then? Pretty much all my games except borderlands work over 3 monitors, and about 90% of them only need a minute or so to configure for 3 monitors, with loads just working from install.

ok, dirt actually looks awful to, like its not fitting properly. ive created my eyefinity group and using 5760x1080 and I can get need for speed shift to work on it

You have to change the aspect ratio for DiRT 2, you'll find it somewhere in the settings.

yeah I changed that, still looked ugly. honestly I had a good look at everything I could change. Need for speed shift was pretty amazing though on the 3 screens. really blew me away tbh. The patches for black ops and MW2 work but wont let me into multi for some reason but single player is fun. mass effect 2 doesnt work neither does C&C red alert 3. Maybe its not for me kylew, seems a hassle having to change to and from eyefinity too

You can set up profiles to swap between eyefinity and simply extended desktops.
