eyefinity help just a quick question

Hi all i have a 5770 GFX card and getting 3 x 1920x1200 res monitors will the GFX card be ok to run the desktop and office work like drawing and internet and other stuff like video playback as i dont game.

Q2 will the GFX card get hotter running 3 monitors or does it not matter at all as i am not gaming ? would it put more stress on the gfx card as to 1 monitor

Desktop it will be fine but gaming wise it has to push a helluva a lot more data through, so yes it will run hotter etc.

But tbh don't expect to run games at decent settings at that res.
Just upgraded to 2x6950's from a 5870, to run games better with 1680x1050x3.

just orderd 2 samsung 2443bw 1920x1200 res monitors as i have 1 already and a sapphire dvi to displyport adaptor and a 3m belkin dvi to dvi cable

Good luck mate, sounds like you've got all the parts you need so hopefully it should just be plug and play.

Your 5770 will run slightly warmer on 3 screens than on 1 (as the GPU is having to do more work), but if not gaming probably no worse than if you turned the radiator on in the same room as your PC.

Since you don't game, you can even say the 5770 is overkill .

Cheers just hope the gfx fan does not speed up as i like a quiet system. Hope to have them buy Thursday

Is there a way to have 2 different profiles for the desktop ? . Want to have a setting for eyefinity and another for none but I can use the other 2 monitors as a extended desktop meaning the task bar is just on the centre monitor.
