Eyefinity help.... Quick Question!

I have a 6970 with 2 dvi 1 hdmi and 2 miniDP

Now then....
I have a Dell 2407 with DVI

I've just aquired 2 24" LED tvs, they are HDMI or VGA....

I'm totally confused as to what connections to use for them... I've been reading I need Active adapters for the HDMI or vga to work for 3 screens when using 1 screen over the miniDP? Can anyone point me in the right direction and help my brain have a rest lol?

Right to get it to work on your setup you need the following:

- Dell 2407 connected via mini DP to active DVI adaptor (Google for XFX active miniDP to DVI adapter - should be £15 or so).

- 1 x 24" monitor connected via HDMI

- 1x 24" monitor connected via DVI to HDMI adaptor

Basically you can have a monitor connected to the DVI and HDMI at the same time but a third must be connected by DP (due to complex clock generator reasons ... too much info for a quick reply).

The above setup will give you the best picture quality as it will avoid the MiniDP to VGA adaptors you would otherwise have to use (don't know if mini DP to HDMI active adaptors exist).

You have to use displayport, i have mine set up active displayport adaptor to dvi, dvi to dvi and hdmi on the last monitor

Yes, for Eyefinity it must be an active adaptor. I believe this is what provides the extra clock for the third monitor (the fact it is active).

Understood now, I was looking for an active hdmi - minidp, which doesn't exist lol, that was were my confusion lay! I was going about it the wrong way!
