Eyefinity: I already have 2 X 20" monitors - can I add this 22" one? (same rez)

Hey guys,

Depending on your anwers I will have to decide: throwing ££ at three new matched monitors or just throwing a little ££ at just one monitor.

I want to go 3-screen Eyefinity.

I currently have two 20" Philips 200WS monitors @ 1680 X 1050 rez

I have found it impossible to find this particular Philips screen online and also its real hard to find a new 20" monitor at this rez. However I found this 22" one at the same rez:

I guess I just wanna know - can I use this 22" one along with my 20" monitors in a 3-screen Eyefinity? So I will have 2 matched monitors and one unmatched one - but as you can see that 22" Samsung is also 1680 X 1050.

And thats all that matters in Eyefinity right....as long as the rez is the same its all good? No doubt it wont look as nice as having 3 matched screens but just bouncing around ideas to save some cash.

Please could you monitor gurus advise me?

As far as I am aware matching resolution is all you need, No experience of it but just going off what I have read.

As far as I know it will work, will probably look a bit odd but if you want eyefinity then it probably does make more sense than buying 3 news ones. I would probably keep searching for another 20" one though.

Yea, good point. I will spend the rest of the week doing my best to find a 20" at this rez. A forum member from OcUK recently sold a Philips 200WS...I was gutted! I wish I had known hee hee..would have snapped it off him!

Admittedly Im still on the fence on this one. Adding a single monitor would save cash but would look odd. If you got 3 screens the desire for symmetry is strong and this one big screen in the middle with two small ones on the side would look funny.
