Eyefinity on the cheap - My experience

im not knockin him for trying it out especially at that price for the screens, just dosn't do it for me with the bezels, i hate tearing in games, it'd send me nuts seeing the black bezels:D

The opinions are focusing on the the obvious issue that everyone but a blind man would not notice & results in nothing but going around in circles about the bezels in thread after thread with people who cant put up with them.

WE all know about the bezels issue for the billionth time can we please learn something new about EVEfinity.

Its not ever going to go unmentioned, get used to it, untill the bezeless displays come along and sort this very big in your face issue

For the people who like to point out the obvious in every EVEfinty thread know matter what the focus is about EVEfinty & cant get over the issue to see any advantage means such people add nothing of any real worth as they can only talk about the issue that everyone already knows about in the first place.

The fact that there is eyefinty experience thread mean that that user has accepted the issue of the Bezel or he would not have eyefinty in the first place as if he did not know about it until people pointed it out.

May as well have a cut & paste ready. " yeah but what about the Bezel" for every Evefinty thread & post & reply for anything Evefinty related. because there is no point in talking about the positive side of it at all because we need to let everyone one know about the Bezel.

I expect it to be mentioned by new people to the forum or by people who have just come across the existence of eyefinity.

The obvious is the bezel but the do you get used is a good point.

its only you that keeps harpin on about the bezels , by quoting everything said about them your not helping your cause.

so what are the real benefits to EVEfinity or EYEfinity as i dont know the difference between them, do frame rates remane the same or do they drop, what if any tearing is there ie is it more noticible or less noticible

Yes I agree Eyefinity is a great way to get a high resolution display without having to pay extortionate amounts, for £450 a 3150x1680 display is a bargain and the negatives inherent with Eyefinity are easily forgivable.

If someone is looking to spend £300+ per monitor for Eyefinity though I think they'd be mad to not get the Dell instead.
 
they will never be able to get rid of bezels completely off monitors, make them smaller yes. thats about it

I'm surprised actually that one of the screen manufacturers hasn't put three screens in one bezel for eyefinity or that ATI hasn't pushed one of them to do it.
 
I currently use a triple head 2 go (awaiting the 5970 or 5870X2 whatever the name will be before I go to eyefinity) and I love it.

I have 3 * 24 inch Dell 2407's running at 5040 * 1050(max on the TH2Go), and can't wait to go 5760 * 1200 with eyefinty.

While I appreciate a number of the comments on the bezels, after playing a number of games, iRacing, Need For speed Shift, FSX, AA2, Op F 2, etc you really don't notice them.

As for the poster who mentioned a bigger screen. A big screen is great, but you really don't get the resolution and playing racing games, flight sims and FPS's really change when you have the extra view to the sides. Some people may even consider it as cheating to get so much extra view. I'm just waiting for the price of the 30' dells to come down so i can move to 3 of those. But don't think that's going to be for a while.

All I say to the people who have posted negative views on this set up. Have you tried it? If so and you didn't like it fine, but most people I've spoken to on this are giving their view without having given it a try.

In the end it's like Marmite, you either love it or hate it.

To the folks that look at photos and then say the bezels are too big, have you actually seen them in person?

You'd be surprised how the eye adjusts, its like looking through a chain fence, you can clearly see what's beyond, despite the obvious obstructions.
Once there is some motion for the eye to follow, you generally focus on that, and the bezels are irrelevant, the eye just follows movement from one screen to the next.

OP: You find that portrait gives you a nicer image? Have you tried a racing game or fps in landscape, where the plane of vision is smaller?

Hoping I can get hold of a 5XXX before xmas, would like to borrow a couple of Dell 248s from work, to go with my 2408 over the holiday :D
 
that would be epic through, 3 HD projectors, blind me the whole room would be covered in gaming :P
