Hey guys i'm thing about getting either a 40inch TV to use as a monitor or buying 3 screens for Eyefinity.

With my GFX Card (XFX ATI Radeon HD 6850 Black Edition)

Which would be best for a gaming environment?

I would be wary about using a TV unless you can find a review for your exact model that has measured low input lag for it.
I just wasted £300 on a TV that's no good for gaming. just bought 3 monitors on the cheap to rig up a budget eyefinity setup. can't say how good that is yet cos i don't have it set up.

What should i look for in monitors also what size? I currently have a LG FLATRON L227WT 22inch. I love it, its clear and crisp, but i have no idea on how to judge quality of screens before purchasing any help would be grate.

Looking for 3x 22-24 Inch monitors around £130 each.

A HD 6850 isn't a particularly powerful card to run Eyefinity resolutions in games.

Also at least one of your 3 monitors has to have a DisplayPort connection or you have to use an active DisplayPort adapter to whatever connection the monitor does have.

People talk about input lag, but nobody ever seems to complain about input lag when hooking a console to a TV.

Is this mostly from twitch-based competitive PC FPS players or do you find console gamers complaining about it too?

Im looking at a similar idea. I have a 2GB 6970, and a 24 inch monitor at the moment. I might try and get a couple of 22 inch monitors to complete a triple monitor setup with eyefinity. Would look awesome as long as my card can handle it, pretty sure it will be fine.

FYI all your monitors have to run at the same resolution for Eyefinity and monitors with different physical dimensions might look a little odd.

I've just moved from Nvidia Surround to 32" TV and I must say it's been the best thing I've done it's perfect the screen looks exactly the same as the monitor no tearing when playing games perfect 1-1 Pixel Mapping and only cost me £399 from Currys I would highly recomend it.

Your monitor matters for gaming? Damn. I just assumed when I build my computer I could just connect it to my 22" LCD TV and everything would run smoothly. Was I wrong?

Its some Tescos Technika 22" 1680x1050 LCD screen which supports HDMI and all. Hopefully it works. :')

I started moaning when I played Guitar hero on X-Box 360 and Wii on a TV :o

So much input lag that I couldn't finish a single difficult song that I always manage to finish with 85-95% note hits on a PC

edit: The calibration didn't help much either for some reason

Ive decided going eyefinity, i tried my 32 inch tv and found that i got eye strain after playing some games.

looking at
3x Asus VE228H 22" Widescreen LED Multimedia Monitor £119.99

Can anyone recommend monitors for eyefinity?

PM me if needed.

I currently only have a 6850 but going to invest in a new set up with a HD 7000 card when they are released.

i've been looking at trying to upgrade my poor mans eyefinity for a while i have a 20.1" dell widescreen (1680x1050) in the centre and two cheap 19" 4:3 (1280x1024) on each side, it looks crap! really want to get 3 22" monitors with super thin bezels. borrowed 3 from work when we upgraded a classroom and they were really nice 22" iiyama led monitors, really thin bezels for overlapping and the monitor itself had a really shallow depth so you didnt get squew when turning on FPS. I think they are iiyama 22" prolite E2273HDS http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-075-IY
