Hi there,

I'm set to order another 2 monitors on Friday to go with my crossfired 5870's.

I would be ordering another 2x Dell SP2309W, the questions I have is regaurding running eyefinity is with the display port. These monitors have DVI, VGA and HDMI, no display port. I was under the impression that I will need to purchase an adapter for this to work ? I'm not very happy about this as this little experiment is gonna cost around 500.00 for the two monitors and desk to fit them on and now a adapter cable at a stupid price !

I have noticed on OCUK that they sell :

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=CB-047-OK

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=CB-048-OK

Am I right in thinking this would do that job or am I getting this wrong ? They seem v cheap compared to the Dell 69.00 display port convertor.

Also dose anyone with eyefinity know how well it would run games such as BFBC2 on an eyefinity setup, would I need to run games on medium settings ect ?

Thanks,

Kev

Thanks v much for the reply, would it have to be VGA or could I do it with the HDMI one instead. Will the cheap ones here on OCUK do the job ? THanks for your help this is the last thing I need ot get ordered.

I'm not sure on DP to HDMI.
I know DP to VGA is ensured to work.
Personally, I'd look for a Dell P2210H. It's what I use, I used to use 1 of these and 2 BenQ VGA's on my old set up.

Ok I think i'll just stick with the DP to VGA and order it from here most likely. I was toying with the idea of buying 2 cheaper monitors but I saw in a post some guy doing that but the colours were all messed up on the two at the side. This monitor runs at 2048 x 1152 and gets blury when put at 1080p, so it would have to be something of that res, will VGA support that res also ? Thanks

Go with DP to VGA.

I had a DP to DVI adaptor (still have) but i was getting horrible flicker on the monitor connected to the adaptor. Kept loosing the signal then coming back and and would repeat ad infinitum. Went for the VGA adaptor and have had no issues with it at all since then. Currently running at 5760 x 1080 here and you cant distinguish between the 2 DVI connected displays and the one on the adaptor.
