Which drivers do you find most stable when running in eyefinity? I'm using 12.5 previews and they are pants :mad:

Great when running single screen but about as stable as a packet of mentos swimming in a sea of coca-cola using all three. I get screen tearing, display port errors, screens going fuzzy, artifacts and if i get the "your display driver has stopped working" message one more time I'm gonna..... well erm... not a lot really... just spent a fortune on this set up....

But I want a stable gaming environment - Is that too much to ask

i ran eyefinity for a while and as much as i liked it and also liked crossfire when you mix the two i found it a right pain

Well that is the boat that I am in right now. It is however great when it all works together. Part of me wishes I had gone for the 30" Ultrasharp instead.... but then I look at my three screens

12.3/12.4 were both fine for me in crossfire/eyefinity
Not tried 12.5 preview yet

I've been using latest stable drivers with 5850 crossfire and now a single 7950. Running 3x dell ultrasharp u2311 monitors in eyefinity at 6056x1080 with no issues. How warm are your GPUs getting? Sounds like they are overheating?

Of the 12 series, I used 12.1, 12.3 and I'm on 12.4 now, and didn't have a problem with any of them (crossfire+eyefinity).

Of the dozens of games I've tried, only one causes any problems (scoregasm) - which happens whether I'm running eyefinity, or single display, crossfire or single card. Judging from the numerous reports of the same issue on that game's forum, I'm assuming its not the AMD drivers at fault there.

Other games - fine.

Have you tried lowering or removing your CPU overclock? Also, since you have the OC'd, are you also OC'ing your graphics cards? Try everything at stock first.

only just gone eyefinity and 12.3 work fine for me.

@dlknight how do you connect your 3 u2311h's? currently I am hdmi to dvi adaptor, dvi, and dp. Now I need to grab an active dp adaptor in future but was wondering if you I can leave the hdmi to dvi???

Why do you need an active adapter if it's working fine as it is now?

cause i still get the standard tearing, though its not as bad as when i tired 12.4

by working fine, i should clarify i mean fine compared to other drivers i have tried.

Gpu's are under water so no heating issues. I think I maybe need to try and wipe and reinstall the drivers. Maybe that will help. It's odd because I have turned it on this morning and I have no tearing, flickering or any other visible issue but last night I was getting terrible tearing and flickering on the middle (DVI) monitor. Which is odd because it is usually the left (MDP) one that tears and flickers. Odd to describe really - it's like the background flickers through the window in the forground. Can't screenie becuase they come out clear :rolleyes:

I might swap back to 12.4's for now as well. Thanks for all of your input

Good luck sorting it out - will just add this, I've seen the issues you describe when pushing for high overclocks. It would be a good troubleshooting step to run your cards at stock settings to see if the problem still occurs. At least then you will know 100% its not the overclock causing you issues.

Running the same as you HDMI > DVI, mini DP to DP and DVI, previously on my 5850 crossfire setup I ran 2 x DVI and DP.

Do you experience any tearing on the dp monitor?

If I have tearing it usually is on the left Dp monitor. But as of yesterday it can happen on the center dvi connected monitor as well.

12.5s are very broke in a lot of scenarios.

Stick with the 12.4WHQL's for now, just be wary of the monitor standby bug.

mm same here, think I am goona get an active dvi mini dp adaptor and see if this much vaunted cure is all its cracked up to be!

Never noticed any, but the DP is my right-hand monitor, HDMI/DVI is centre monitor.

Well, it could sound silly, but how do you update your drivers??.. Through your VGA manufacturers website??..

Because I have been using my 2 monitors over a year now, and no problems at all with any game with any driver, ONLY if I update from my VGA manufacturers website..

At some point, I did it from the AMD official page (some BETA driver), and had crashes all over the system..
I don't uninstall previous version, just install over the old one..
So far, went from 11.2 to 11.5 to 12.4..

Never install the latest one if no need..

I have noticed something though. The tearing issue isn't happening in game. It's only happening while I am looking at the dektop. For example I have steam maximised across my desktop and this (IE) is windowed in the center monitor and I am getting flickers on the left monitor.

Any one know why activating VSYNC in either 120hz or 60hz cauzes one monitor to run at a low fps (DP) and sometimes go blurry? Dissabling it makes it all better

And the start menu flickers like mad.

Any way I am done with it today. I want to actually play some games if I can!!

I had this with the same monitors, adapters and 1x 7950.

I think it was when I tried the 12.4/5 preview drivers. So I rolled back to 12.3.

I'm now on 12.4 WHQL ones and haven't had the tearing/flickering problem since.
