I'm currently setting up my brothers PC and he has four monitors.

We just brought a MSI 6950 Rev 1 for the PC which can power four monitors, but how do you set it up when all the monitors only have DVI ports?

I know you need one Active DP to DVI adapter to get three working, but what about four?

Do you need a second Active DP to DVI adapter?

Or can you set it up like this..

DVI - DVI
DVI - DVI
HDMI - DVI
DP - Active DP to DVI - DVI?

lol im currently getting 3x Benq 24" monitors to replace my dell 2001fp monitor :)

Nice one, Eyefinity is pretty awesome when it is up and running, but starting to hate all the custom settings.ini and .cfg jobs you gotta do for some games!

But, back to the question, anyone can help please?

Someone said, I still have to use two Display Ports on the GPU, but do both need an active DP to DVI adapter or can it be one active and one passive?

4 will be bad for gaming cause your cross hair will be in between the bezels. Where has 3, the middle monitor is clear and you can see better. 5, 7, 9, 11, 14 would be perfect for gaming. but 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 monitors would be rubbish due to the bezel in the middle.

If not gaming, 4 is good ;)

think you have to use both dvi and both dp's not the HDMI could be wrong tho and for gaming would look wrong.

That is correct.

You can't use both DVI's and HDMI at the same time.

For 4 screens with DVI connections it's:

2 x DVI to DVI
2 x Mini DisplayPort to DVI via active adapters
