Eyefinity = wut?

i think the 5970 uses 9.12 Beta drivers, so amd is working hard since they releaseed 5870, only a month left for 9.12 WHQL to be released :)

This wont work, at least one DP port needs to be in use, if you dont have a DP port on your monitor u will need an active DP --> DVI adapter

No? If ATI can get crossfire eyefinity to work then I can use 2 monitors off one, 1 off the other, unless I'm wrong?
But that's how they got 24 screens working.

um i have my games extended accorss my three monitors running at 5760 x 1200 ( 3 x 24 inch ) I have crossfire enabled and it works??? certianly not had any problems with it unless the crossfire part is lying to me

no with 2 x 5870s, i just have not updated my sig. i got rid of the 295s cause i was having too many issues with them. Hate duel gpu cards.

Bezel management?
It might make my 3840x1080 eyefinity set up worth summit lol.

Always find it hard to explain this

Well if youve noticed, when it comes to the edge of one monitor the rendered image stops then starts exacly were it stops on the second image, so in effect the monitors images do not line up due to the bezels etc.

Now with bezel management, it doesn't stop and start the image with the next monitor. It renders it as if the bezels are not there so whats behind the bezels you will not see(obviously). So say going to the next monitor with both bezels i might skip 25mm? So it skips say 200pixels and then starts the next rendered image there.

Therefore everything will align up perfectly, you probably won't realise how much of a difference this makes until you see it.

I knew exactly what you meant lol.
I use two 22" 1920x1080 screens, gaming at 3840x1080 is a pain in FPS games, which is why I was going to opt for a third screen, but I need an active DP to DVI adapter.

Couldn't a modified Hydra grid do bezel management? If Hydra Grid was made to do so, as I thought it was at first =/,

Whats the cheapest you can get an active display port > DVI adapter?

I'm only aware of two companies that sell these but they are classed as competitors to Overclockers so I cannot name them. A quick google search should be able to locate them for you.

They are states based websites though international companies and I don't think they send products out of the US so you would have to use something like usunlocked to get them shipped to the UK. Prices are about $90 + p&p

I'm hoping though that some UK stores (Overclockers) will start stocking them before I buy my 5970.

Taff

Theres a dutch company but theyve been sold out for a while, and wont ship unless you ring/email them first etc.

But there is a active mini DP adapter you can try. Not the best quality etc though, and doesn't seem to work with all monitors.
You can get these for about £68. ish.

I knew exactly what you meant lol.

Meh
