F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Demo (XBL & PSN)

i didnt think it was that bad. There was a lack of gore though and i dont like the idea of using mechs often.

People on the 360 achievements website I use seem to be raving about it or think it's pretty good - at least as good as the first FEAR which makes me interested. I don't really want to try the demo as with the shorter length of games these days it cuts into your enjoyment...well mine anyway!

I might just get it regardless, I did with the first and the expansions and loved them.

While the combat was still fun, I felt pretty bored through most of it. I don't think the atmospheric effects and Alma stuff really work anymore. I just wanted more of the combat for most of the demo. Loved the original FEAR though, so might pick this up at some point.

Sometime after the first one was released there was a dispute between the devs and the publisher, the publisher owned the name of the game but the dev owned the rights to the plot / characters etc.
So the publisher went ahead and made the expansions but couldn't use any of the characters from the original game. The dev moved on and started making a F.E.A.R sequel but without the use of the name ! Recently they (not sure if it was the dev or the new publisher) bought the name back off the old publisher.

graphics suffered from motion blur for me (no my tv is fine thanks).
felt like i was sticking to the enviroments and couldnt move properly at times.
seen it all before, ie: flashing strip lights are so last gen.

rather eat a broken glass sandwich than play this utter depressing rubbish.

I finally played this last night, really surprised me. Probably won't buy it but I did enjoy the demo, controls were a little odd and took me ages to get used to. Grenades, slo-mo and melees didn't feel as meaty as the first game, but the combat overall felt more fun for some reason. The mech section was good, reminded me of the last level of Chronicles of Riddick.
