Try reverting back to the 8.12's plus hotfix as I was having all sorts of crashing and instability with 9.1's in other games - Hell's Highway would not load and FEAR and AoC crashed frequently. Not one problem since reverting back.

I will seriously consider before getting another Ati card as the drivers are not nearly as stable as nVidia's have been as with my previous 3 cards.

I intend grabbing a copy of this once I've finished Mirrors Edge.

Anyone running it on a system similar to mine ( spec in my sig ) ?.

Yesssssssssss! The invisible ninjas are back!!!!! :D

Were you the guy who commented earlier on in the thread that you were disappointed about the lack of cloaked ninjas ? If so, i was thinking of spoiling your surprise but then i thought id let you find out for yourself !

Sorry, im to lazy to look back ! lol.

Not scary?

The thing is, with all horror media, is it only works if you really try and 'get into it'. To really pretend you are there. Horror genre takes more effort from the user than any other genre I think.

you see, it's very easy to diss any work of horror. To watch horror films and think 'Yea whatever it's a bloke in a plastic suit pretending to be an axe murderer how boring'.

But the fact is you're just kind of ruining it for yourself. You've paid for the media (I hope) - trust me -- you'll have more fun if you try and pretend you're there. Not take the easy, but rubbish route of 'I'll bust into the room as fast as I can who cares what ghosts I see they don't harm me'. Creep into the room. Pretend you're actually there. Try and panic yourself up a bit! It's just, simply, more fun!

FEAR 2 should only be played at night. The lights should be off. The volume should be cranked up an extra 20%. But the most important thing is to psychologically try and get into it. Don't think 'Yea none of these ghosts reduce my health so who cares boring' as you lump through the level as fast as you bloody can. Yes, that'll make it naff. Think 'Jees this is scary stuff happening round me'.

People who say it's not scary .. well .. I hate to say it but NOTHING that isn't real is remotely scary (to adults), unless you .. er .. put your imagination into it a bit!

I could take the mickey out of any horror media I've ever seen easily. It's EASY to not be scared, and just think 'it's a computer game for goodness sake who cares' -- , but simply no fun!

Some horror things are just rubbish though...

I agree, Fear 2 must be played ideally in the dark with the volume up high, headphones help as well. Before I did this I really did not find the game particularly emotional. The cinematic sequences are great, and some set-peices that are top notch but combatwise the game is abit meh. I have played it for 4.3 hours on hard (according to steam) and from what I can tell I am over half way through the game... all-in-all Fear 2 is nothing special.

Yes, yes, that was me. Big fan of the original game, and they were my favourite enemies :)

Spot on mate, I was playing like this at about 1am the other morning and it was tiring me out, I was so on edge. Think the game actually gets better as it progresses; I'm in the subway/underground right now and there are some good set-pieces.

Just finished it

Love the ending :D

Cant be bothered to watch the credits, but is there anything at the end worth waiting for?

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just completed it , one of the best games of 2009 wonder if it can be topped :D:D. Amazing graphics which just get better and better , gameplay is great aswell. MUCH better than fear 1

Interesting porn sounds at the end :D :D

Didn't get a single stutter though some did in the demo

how long as it took you all to finish this game? guessing ive played it for about 3-4 hour all together and ive just got to that underground lab under nurses office

guessing im near end?

can remember early days of tomb raider and resident evil and silent hill where its would takes you weeks and weeks of playing every night to finish them!

shame todays games cant do this

Encountered strange bug. I came across two new weapons on one level - missile launcher and sniper rifle - would love to switch pea shooter pistol and shotgun for them and keep instead but can't find a way to pick them up. F doesn't work, H doesn't work, there is no way to drop weapons I have. WTF?

Exaaaaaaaaaaactly. It's like watching a horror movie with the lights on - the user's atmosphere is so important.
