F.E.A.R: Extraction Point Expansion Pack

Finished the game a while ago, its a good game and nearly as good as the main game.

The story line was a bit of a disapointment.

Just because all other games are fine, doesn't necessary mean that this isn't the case - FEAR is pretty demanding. Why not try running everything at stock and see if the problem occurs - shouldn't take you more than 15mins to test.

I'd also have a look in your catalyst control panel and make sure AA/AF etc aren't being forced at driver level.

I know it's demanding but I had no problems with the original FEAR. I'm gonna reinstall the game 2moro and will see if cat 6.10 does anything to sort out the issues.

What res where you running on?

My 7900gt really struggles at times in 1920x1200, although it was fine in the demo. Guessing they optimised the demo a lot to make a good impression, just didn't bother with the full game.

Finally got round to completing it this weekend. Nothing special, it's very much more of the same. There's not quite so many 'weird'/scary/annoying bits, but the environments, while detailed, are lacking in variety somewhat.

There's a couple of great action sequences; one where you drop down onto some train carriages from above, and another right at the end on the hospital roof. Some really nice fights there really showcasing the AI in FEAR.

However, two good set pieces does not a good game make, and it's frustrating that they didn't build on the solid foundations of FEAR to make a more involving game. There's even less plot (phones, teammate interaction) etc and you can't help but feel that Monolith have simply gone through the motions with this one.

FEAR has a great technical base - good graphics, sound, physics and AI - it's just a shame that it's not been used to make a genuine classic in the mould of Deus Ex or something like that. It basically feels like a posh version of, I dunno, Area51 or Pariah.

Monolith weren't involved in this addon.
It was published by timegate studeos.
I do agree that the game could be a hell of a lot better, but personally, I still love it :D
