Post pics of both old and new setups! I demand nekkid cruncher pr0n!
Not likely, allthough, I have A Multi-Boinic Account (or whatever they are called these days) as well as an original SETI account, but can't for the life of me remember the account information and how all that works.Dont suppose I can tempt a couple of those cores over to the Seti project can I???
Cue Hangdog look and cheeky grin![]()
Here's the current setup as it is today. I have added one more box since this piccy, another Antec 900 Q6600.

I'm not even using the XEON's at the moment. Suppose I should do really.

I was sent an e-mail from an old friend in the UK that will "Give Me", yep for Free, no dosh, not one pence, nadda !!! an Enterprise Blade Server Backplane fully populated with redundant PSU's & NIC Control Boards (from a Teir-1 Server MFG) if I buy 2 or more Blades to go in it. When the rack is fully populated, it will house 8 Full Height Dual Quad Blades = 64 Cores(Hello 5400 Series Processing Power) all in a neat and tidy package. Best part is, my IT director has agreed (After a bit of Arm Twisting, as he still owes me a Global CRM Implementation) to let me use one of our data centers to house the thing in. No More Power Costs, Blazing Fast - Redundant INET (100mb+), KVM-IP access, built in Web-Server for Ganglia Monitoring and the Best part, NO NOISE or HEAT problems !!!! etc etc etc
So, without further delay, I will be planning to shift my farm from Desktop Flding to Enterprise Blade Servers. ~ ETC end of FEB-08
Well, things haven't gone as fast as it was laid out / commited, however, I am in the process of re-imaging all my nodes with Ubuntu 8.04 64-Bit Server Installs in preparation for sale. 2x of the E6600's are complete. Will be doing the 3x Quads this week then the X6800.Any news on when this Folding Monster will come online?
