F(x)=... Help please.

"we have computers, use them...."

quote from myself.

Were in the 21st century now, you lot seem to be going back in time rather than forward, we have computers, use them.

...and just exactly how do you think these computers are designed, built and programmed?

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe he thinks that they are programmed by other computers that require a slightly less complex code, and that one programmed by another with slightly less complex code untill the first computer in the chain requires only knowledge of GCSE maths. Could work perhaps :D

hopefully that's right matey

EDIT: i admitt i skipped a few steps in the simplification process but that's me being lazy

computers are only good when your repeating calculations

you need to be able to program the first calculation into it

and its a very very high paid job to do so

FF(x)
is F(F(x))

So effectively
F(X+1/X-1)

I'm not sure why they use hence for the second part, wouldn't be my method?

I'd calc the inverse by swapping x and y and then solving for y.

f(x) and f^-1(x) will be symetrical in the line y=x I think, I'm not honestly sure of the other bit, we did inverse functions quite a while ago for C3 and have the exam in june!

Possibly wrong for the second part.

Decision and Mech2 tommorrow and the next day though :S

LOL

After what we used to do to our teachers not a chance, despite the fact i quite enjoy teaching other people how to do it. Still gotta finish my degree, i'm on placement right now so naturally i have forgotten a lot of stuff already. got my third year to look forward to in September ohhh the stress :(
