F1 2011 In Person

Not looking likely, I reckon your looking at 300 for ticket/flights/hostel/hotel. Whats public transport like, do you need a hotel near the track? so you can walk it, I imagine it's quite busy on race day and congested?

Lol, busy...

Why do you think tickets are £40? Its because they only had 10,000 people turn up last year!

But yes, for us its expensive. As soon as you add in flights and car and hotel its not cheap any more.

Flights seem to be £180, what ever happened to the 20-40 return flights to Europe.
When I went to Dublin it was 99p each way + taxes.

I visited the Bahrain circuit last year, just before season start.

No plans this year. Would love to go to Spa :)

So tempted to do the race at silverstone this year (nearly went last year but events made me forget to get tickets before it was too late). Quite tempted if I get time/persuade anyone to come with me to go to the german gp as thats at nurburgring this year too :)

Some of the long fly-away's would be fun too, would love to see japan, korea (provided there's no war), mallaysia or australia, but im guessing they all need more planning than iv done so far....

In 17 years of being an F1 fan iv only been to friday practice at silverstone once and quali there once which is a bit weird, probably is the year to change all that and go to one or two...

Its addictive, and an expensive one.

I can remember being young and wishing I could go see an F1 race, thinking "it would be great to go and see one some day...."

I attended Silverstone in 2005, then again in 2006 and 2007, then Spa 2008 and 2009, then Silverstone in a Grandstand in 2010, and will be doing Spa again this year. My sisters did both Spa and Silverstone last year, and i'm looking at Monza for 2012.

I cannot imagine going a year without seeing an F1 race live now...

I went to the first (recent) Indy race - 2000? - and Melbourne in 2008, Ive also been in Monaco while the GP was being held (but never got to see the cars on track)

Silverstone is too ***** awkward to get to (as I dont drive) and otherwise gets too expensive - and camping isnt for me lol

Would love to go to Spa (hopefully) or Germany, or possibly one of the arabian races when funds allow in the future

I'm paid up for Istanbul in May, as part of a week's break in Turkey. About £900 for tickets in Silver on turns 1 and 2, flights and a good hotel in the blue mosque area for a week for two people. So cheaper than Silverstone.

i posted a thread but i thought id add to this one.

doing silverstone with the old man, a treat from my mum, only interesting this is i havent told work yet as im on the sick and that weekend is already fully booked for holidays... dont think the doctor will sign me off that long
