F1 Race Stars

I wonder if the F1 license has hampered them at all?

"Your not allowed to make the cars drift because F1 cars don't drift", etc?

Seems like a massive missed opportunity.

Has anyone played Little Big Planet Karting?

I played the beta of LBP Karting and it was very good, might cancel this and put the money towards LBP karting. Stupid move not including all the tracks from the off :(

its what i said on the codies forums about this game, looks nice, but its not fun, beauty of mario kart, which came out in 1991 ish, was that you didnt have to brake, you just jumped into a corner and powerslide , was amazing.

Felt slow and dull, shame cause it could have been fun, if it was 1200msp maybe worth a risk but not as a retail game

Doesn't the F1 Race Stars game only come with 11 of the 19 tracks in it as standard?

What the actual WHAT.

If that's true DLC has hit a new low.

Didn't they do this with Dirt 3 though ? I don't know about the console version although I suspect it was the same. But on the PC when you played Dirt 3 you were constantly reminded that this and that were missing and you could buy DLC blah blah ..
And then to rub more salt in the wound the gits released Dirt 3 Complete Edition which had all the DLC included about nine months down the line from the original.

Talk about a slap in the face for the customer

Well, I got this yesterday, or rather, the missus picked it up for me because she saw me playing the demo.

I actually think its OK, especially if you can pick it up under RRP.

IMO, the demo and the track included does the game no justice at all. Some of in game tracks are much better

Its clearly a Mario Cart clone, with the KERS feature sort of replacing the drift boost.
The pits are quite a nice idea. Deciding whether you can nurse your car to the finish or whether you can afford time in the pits adds another element to the racing. AI seems fairly balanced. Its not easy to roar off down the road, as the damage element balances things out. It can also be frustrating, which I suppose is a good and a bad point.

On the whole, I am enjoying it so far.

I played this for a bit on the PC today and putting the DLC issue to one side it's actually not bad and could be great if we could only slide round corners.

If codemasters could fix it to so we could slide (in an update) it would be a much better game!

However I will absolutely not buy any DLC as I didn't on Dirt 2 or 3

I've played this for the last couple of nights, the Demo actually grew on me so I went against the reviews and bought it.

Wish I'd listened to the reviews tbh, I'm amazed how Codemasters have managed to suck the fun out of a Karting game. The no Sliding is one thing but in general it's not fun. The tracks are quite long and with the likes of Mario Kart no matter what position you were in you had a chance to win.. what I've found on some tracks is the AI car can start off and gain so much distance that it's pretty impossible to catch him.. on other occasions I've gone into the pitlane to repair, come out and been hit by 1 thing after another and needing repair again and there can be a big distance between the pitlanes.
