I think you mean:

Front wing: very similar
Front suspension: similar and in a similar position
Sidepods: similar
Engine cover: similar
Rear wing: similar

There's always a fair degree of similarity between F1 cars because of the rules, but even by those standards that Haas is very similar to the 2017 Ferrari in design even with forced changes imposed by rules changes. I'll be interested to see whether the 2018 Ferrari is more or less similar.

No, I think my original post is accurate.

Front suspension: the components are a different shape and are in a different position on the car.
Side pods: different shape, different aero components around it
Engine cover: no shark fin, different shape air box, different shape rear (flares out)
Rear wing: different position n dimensions

Obviously they look similar as they’ve got to build within the rules but in terms of an F1 car they’re quite different. If you created that with any car you’d have the same results

It's not even a testing livery, it's just for the reveal it seems and might get used on a filming day. Sigh, kinda pointless. It'll be loved by many and the actual livery will be no doubt disappointing so they stay on brand for them and their sponsors.

Those sidepods are very anorexic at the top. Looks like a lot of access and structure around the halo mounting points too.
 
that should be the livery, that's amazing.

car reveals are always a bit useless, i expect all the aero will change significantly before the first race.
suppose we get to see length, wheelbase and sidepod size.
 
I think the detail of the side-pods is hidden in the darkness, I think they might be larger/and or more L-shaped than the pictures imply.

I had a look around in GIMP and could not get any discernible detail from the given images :(

Yeah, they look to extend as far wide as the wheels? Maybe it's really true, Red Bull does give you wings.

Last year the teams had an L shaped wing in front of the sidepod didn't they? Is the vertical part now out of regulation?

RB concerns appear to be that the extra weight allowance this year favours Merc much more than themselves. Whether that's in engine development or just the ability to put extra weight elsewhere on the car, who knows. I've got my fingers crossed that RB and McLaren can be as disruptive and brave as their marketing slogans suggest.
 
Interesting because last year merc really struggled with weight for the first half of the year, and they are concerned they will struggle again, but if the extra weight is what brought them the extra reliability then it makes sense to go heavy and try and diet down rather then go to light and blow up.
