F1 testing @ Silverstone

Yeah was good day :) You forget just how insanely loud and quick F1 cars are until you see them in real life.

Editing video, which I'll get up tomorrow hopefully.

IMO, or so it seemed, the McLaren was much louder than the rest of the pack. Shame Honda & Super Aguri had other issues to worry about and not make an appearance.

Honda decided to test in Sunny Spain.. No-one was forced to test at Silverstone so I'm not sure there were any "issues" involved.

Anyone else think it was a bit of a con that you couldnt go around 2/3rd of the track to watch and were limited as to where you could go?

stands were closed but i went all around the track  , only ever been to woodcoat before so seeing abbey etc was interesting

Saw Scott Speed in the red bull motorhome but my mate isn't an F1 fan so we wnt at 3:30 ish :(

Yeah they were and BMW were noticeably louder too. Spyker sounded rough!

That was the track commentator issues comment, not mine. He questioned why they would test in 'sunny spain' when they'll be racing in totally different conditions in two weeks time. Plus, it's extra practice for the drivers at the circuit. They certainly need it.

On a side note, I found the commentary useful, they didn't have it last year (March 06). Had no idea who was quick, how many laps have been completed etc.

Just finishing editing the video, which I'll post hopefully later today.

Went on Wednesday, was lucky enough to have a mate who knew one of the Williams Engineers, so we got some pit passes into the Williams garages, was quite an interesting experience and was great to get up close to the team working on the car. I'll post my pictures tomorrow, though wasn't supposed to have my camera in the pit garage, so didn't take it in with me, so no nice pics there I'm afraid.
