Hi

I have an account on each of these F2P mmos:

Star Wars TOR
Star Trek Online
Guild Wars 2
The Secret World

None of these have I reached max level.

I don't get a lot of free time, but will towards the summer months and was wondering which one of these four that you lot reckon would be best for casual play at the moment looking to get more into the game in the future. I am not willing to invest the money back into WOW at the moment and would rather be able to progress quite far in the game without paying for much.

Any advice will be useful! The one thing is that TSW had a lot of crashes due to memory usage at all settings (I only have 4GB RAM) so I'd only play this if it's been improved.

Thanks

the easy answer is GW2 as the others are all pants ! however, may I turn your attention to the rather brilliant Neverwinter that was just 'soft' released in open beta form. It's free, it's fun and should run no problem on lower end systems.

Swtor I wouldn't bother, the f2p is so limited plus they've now put what is effectively a pay wall on max level (you need to buy a 'digital expansion' costing £12 to do the level 50-55 stuff). Reaction to that has been pretty mixed/meh and they mostly seem to just be adding stuff to the cartel market (cash shop) these days.

Guild Wars 2 I played but personally didn't like much, but if you enjoyed it before I guess you'll likely enjoy it if you go back?

TSW I've not played so no comment.

Star Trek I've only played a little bit, but it may be worth you at least checking it out again as they have a free expansion coming out this month adding in the Romulans so new missions, ships etc. Seems to be pretty decent set up as f2p goes.

TSW is pretty casual, plays a lot like a single player rpg with multiplayer option, good stoyline, cut scenes, quests are actually interesting, and is rather challenging in places, end game is lacking a bit but it does mean you can do most of it in pick up groups and still do ok. if pvp is your thing probably wouldnt recomend it, more of a pve game like ffxi and everquest.

I would say GW2 as I love the game :p

Just have a think which of the four YOU enjoy the most and get stuck in. Don't be swayed by others as all are still active (to varying degrees) and you may as well play what you enjoy.

I've never played secret world so can't comment. Swtor was a poor mans wow, Star Trek was fun enough but I found it limited. Personally I would say gw2 has a lot going for it but I think the play style the game has is marmite with people either loving or hating it.

As I said find the one you get the most out of and ignore us lot :p

Try world of tanks thats free to play and u can take ur time to get to the higher tiers without problem.

also world of warplanes is in beta atm its like world of tanks but planes(u get free testing gold) google for a beta key.
