F2P MMO

There is Morrowind expansion in June - with a new class. There is a gold version with all four expansions dark brotherhood, thieves guild, orsinium and imperial city but the main game is massive and it would be months before you ever got to these during natural play unless you specifically wanted to go there. they are also unlocked for free if you sub (but become locked again if you stop)

freedom of exploration was change in oct/nov last year to be the same as skyrim etc - so yes you can go anywhere now :)

Cheers. That's my weekend sorted;)

Afaik Black Desert isn't for Mac. Maybe with bootcamp? Nice game though, very pretty, action based. A bit thin storywise and kinda repetitive, but nowhere near as bad as most Korean MMOs. Still grindy though.

ESO is quite nice. Characters aren't as nice to look at as BDO but the scenery is fantastic imo. The quests are more story driven and engaging. There are faster ways to level up than questing but imo the quests are worth doing.

yes, completely agree - but you also run the risk of accidentely endin up in one of the DLC dungeons in group finder at level 10 and be immediately kicked out by the other members...
I'm pleasantly surprised to say that's not the experience I've found over the last couple of days. I've ended up with Mazzatun come up via random normal on both my latest level 30 Templar and level 10 Nightblade alts when queued as healer and I had no issue with the groups I got.

Thanks for reminding me about ESO, hadn't played in well over a year and went back this weekend just to have a look; cue a marathon weekend session and I've fallen back in love with the game. I noticed I had a character slot left so started a new Nightblade from scratch and I'm amazed how busy the start areas still feel with plenty of players everywhere :)

I have just downloaded lotR to see what it's like. Good reviews and lots of thumbs up on Steam. I did buy WoW Legion last month, got to lvl 102 and it's still not grabbed me. Really gone down hill, looks amazing for a 12 year old game but to me it's all muddled up, confusing. I'll see how lotR grabs me and maybe try Legion again later.

The Secret World is worth a look.
They are about to relaunch it as Secret World Legends with updated graphics and combat so might be worth waiting until that is live rather than start the old version.

Yeah. Started playing an hour a day again, after a year break. Had a free slot, made an Altmer MA NB (but with weapons not cloth/staff) and he seems as nasty as my 3 year old Khajiit STA NB.
