F3's versus F2's

I am clearly in a state of confusion

I thought Samsung started with their high speed f1 drives, then launched the low speed eco drives for the f2 and then returned to high speed blistering performance with their f3 range

would suggest otherwise, this is an f3 drive which seems to have f2 stats, is this correct, a green f3?

F1 (333GB/Platter, 7200rpm)
F1 EcoGreen (333GB/Platter, 5400rpm)
F2 EcoGreen (500GB/Platter, 5400rpm)
F3 (500GB/Platter, 7200rpm)
F3 EcoGreen (500GB/Platter, 5400rpm)

It's always obvious from the specs and the name of the drive but yes it is a bit mixed up and odd. EcoGreen = 5400rpm.

hmm, yes, but your stats for f2 and f3 ecogreen are identical, is that correct?

No, you see the platter size? That's a big difference right there. Also maybe cache and features? I'm not sure but think so.

What do you mean platter size?
Did he quote the wrong figures or something, those 2 values look identical to me.

What I said was correct. The F3 EcoGreens have 32MB cache instead of 16MB on the F2's.
I guess if they're discontinuing the F2's their naming now actually makes sense with just F3 and F3 EcoGreen.
