FA CUP Quarter Final ** Spoilers ** [17th - 18th March 2018]

There is no fluidity, even amongst the more experienced players

Utd were a lot better than Tuesday, but it would have been difficult to have been worse

American commentary was trying to suggest Matic was best player on the pitch - even including the assist, he really wasn't - Brighton were playing really well but didn't challenge Romero that much - maybe two or three decent (rather than world class) saves, but that's also down to the gk making them look more difficult than they need to be

This is the type of football we can look forward to for the remainder of Mourinho's time at United, it won't change :(

I think even JM is starting to (publicly) recognise the lack of quality in the side

It's just totally dull.

Win, lose or draw it feels much of a muchness. We're back to where we were with Moyes and LvG, rubbish football, average results, zero entertainment.

If this is how it's going to be, I hope Mourinho has a big meltdown and gets sacked sooner rather than later. We need to get in a manager who will focus on attacking, creative football. We are a million miles away from that.

There is loads of quality in our squad. I reckon we easily have the second best squad in the league. You can’t tell me that all these teams that outplay us have better players. Our issue is the style of football Mourinho has us playing. If you gave this team to Guardiola we would play brilliant football.

I agree, the squad isn't the best but it's far from average. Our strongest 11 should be capable of playing entertaining football and beating most teams, but they have poor coaching and no direction.

You just have to watch any of the “exciting” teams in the world and they play fluid football and their movement through the opposition is practiced and smooth. The reason the smaller teams can’t do it is because their players aren’t good enough.

You can’t tell me that Pogba, martial, Rashford, mata, Sanchez and lukaku can’t play like that. Sevilla beat us because they just played through us. Against sides we consider our equals like Liverpool, city etc we play defensively and hit on the break which can be effective. Our biggest issue is against sides who can actually play football but we don’t consider good enough to play counter attacking football against.

We can beat most of the poorer teams in the PL simply by being a collection of good players. Sevilla were well drilled, played good football and simply lacked a top striker. We could easily have lost by more goals over the two legs.

Tonight, Brighton played the better football but didn’t quite fashion the chances they needed to score and we put away pretty much the only two chances we made. Relying on the other team to miss their chances is not a strategy that wins you anything of note like the PL or CL.

Sounds like I didn’t miss much then. I’m probably not going to bother watching MOTD then!

It does seem like not everything can be laid at Mourinho’s door if he’s trying to get the team to be more aggressive and they’re not doing that based off the interview clip above?

It begs the question, has he lost the dressing room? I guess we're going off topic here @BaZ87

No no, I'll always allow criticism of Mourinho in any thread ;)

Seriously though, it's fine for now. If we end up with 10 pages on how much of a **** Mourinho is then I'll move it to it's own thread and probably sticky it to be honest.

Wigan putting a few tasty tackles in early, I quite fancy them today it's just whether the 'new manager effect' will give the Saints a kick up the rear.

I think he's starting his meltdown blameing everyone but himself needs to go. Read on sky yesterday that pundits are saying he's trying to get sacked so he can take psg job at end of season I actually hope he goes now to be honest

Keown is a clown, did he really just compare Morsy to Beckenbauer?

Wigan well on top they should be a couple of goals up with the chances they've had. Poor quality in the final third.

If PSG want to make us an offer I would be interested. You can say you want more attacking football but if you punish players or berate them for taking chances and losing the ball then you are not encouraging anything but negative football. You also have to coach a team to play football. If saying play more attacking or defensive football worked, Arsenal wouldn’t have such issues.
