Fable 2

I played about 1/5 of the way through as a 'good' character and then started a new game as an evil character. Both are still playable, so it doesnt overwrite.

If think ive made some wrong choices for quick money when buying properties, i 1st bought a house in bowerstone and rented it out, got just over 400/5 then i got the inn at oakfield, went back to bowerstone and bought the potion shop ( cheap pots ) then the book shop ( cheap books ) and then the furniture shop, but im only getting around about 1540g per 5 mins, i really thought shops would get more buisness than that.

Get more, the more costly the building the higher the profit. Generally. I have about 16,5xx coming in on my finished character.

Bowerstone inn gives 800. get that, and the bowerstone blacksmith.

I used the last of my money to buy the furniture shop in bowerstone, as i noticed a 'treasure' in the basement, but the door was locked so i thought it would open if i owned the building, i didnt see the thing behind me until later.

You can get weeks of gameplay if you play this game how it should be played. I'm trying to do and find everfything as well has max out every stat.

I did the Crucible last night and I got LOADS of XP and a fair bit of cash too. I only have 10k Gold though. I own a few stalls which are bringing in bugger all money for me (about 60 gold every 5 mins). What would be the best thing to buy next? I was thinking of saving up the 36k odd and buying the pub in Bowerstone. What does everyone think?

Exact same situation with me. I'm just buying out the shops and gradually working my way upwards in terms of the bigger shops. I own the furniture and tailor shop so far, which are my larger establishments and am getting about 950g every so often.

The pub or alchemist is next on my hitlist in Bowerstone market square.

Bought everything excluding castle I think (~1.7m of real-estate) got my money saved up for it though.

Keep switching between mace and katana, but just got the legendary katana from...some place (was gargoyle hunting) looks epic.

Also got a pretty shoddy cutlass from a house within a demon door (was all happy and sunny, then you enter the house and it changes into a massacre scene, skeletons everywhere!) just before bloodstone I think, had to play extended lute for ages.

Dont start small. The money you have spent on all theese shops is not worth it compared to some places.

The bowerstone pub will be around 60k, 71k if its on 5star eco. This will however give u 1k every 5min if put on 20%+ tax i beleive. This is your best ratio of income and will pay its self back in under 8 hours of play depending on how you set the taxs and what price you pay.

Next id suggest the blacksmith in bowerstone. All theese little shops costing you 25-35k are not giving you as much profit for a high price. Big shops give the best pay back.

IF you want to get your money the quickest, look for shops which give more then 1% back per 5min. Paying the 30-36k for the oakvail pub to get only 1% back every 5min is not a good deal when you can pay less for some other shops and get the 300 anyway.

Ive given the game back now to my friend so i cant check the numbers off the top of my head, there are a few houses that give very good cash back compared to their price around so you might wana check houses as you walk past em.

Also, Do the barman job. Very very good way of making money. It will take you like 30-40min to get it to the top promotion and then you can make 20-30k every 10min easly. Bare in mind doing this job will send the eco up very quickly and will raise the price of the bar and shops around a reasonable amount.

Finished it last night, was quite an emotional ending actually

******************Potential (very very small) Spoiler Alert*****************

Does anyone actually feel the need to keep playing after finishing the main quest?

OK I've played this game for about 5-6 hours. I havent rushed anything, I've tried exploring and saving money to buy some shops etc. I've even got my self a wife and baby, but... I'm not enjoying this game as much as I think I should be :(

I'm a HUGE rpg fan but I'm struggling here. Am I the only one? I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm the same with RPGs, I love them but can't make up my mind about Fable 2. I am not immersed in the world as I would be in Oblivion, maybe because of it's cartoonish looks? I can't take things seriously anyway, yet when I do play I quite enjoy it. Immersion is one thing I'm struggling to get to grips with, and have done since the day I got it.

Yep, definitely.

I finished the main quest in about 20 hours of play on my first weekend of having the game, and spent as many hours playing since then.

Lots of nice stories in the quests you do. If you havnt married Lady Grey or slept in Brightwood Tower and met Chesty then your missing out on some of the games best bits.

And I'll probably be playing it through again as I'm sure there is more in there that I didnt find on my first play through.

Mine definitely hasn't as I checked in case i was going mad too :p You go to continue game and it lists a load of cards (like the fate cards) with your heroes listed and where they currently are in the game world, so I've definitely got Hero 1 and Hero 2 :)
Thanks for confirming, I tended to believe you anyways, I know Wyrdo has it in for me because I am better than him at CoD4 :p :D

Does anyone fancy a a Reaver doll in exchange for someone else? I have 3 Reaver dolls... not sure I am bothered about the achievement, but if it's easy to get then I shall :)

Thanks for the advice. I'll sell the little stalls I have bought then and do the bartender job until I can afford the pub. How do you check what % a shop gives back every 5 minutes though?
