You hear stories in the news all the time about how people have been sacked because of their FB and people break up relationships because of it. Whats the worst thing that has happened to you because of the existence of Facebook?

Is this another thread to hopefully get next to the other facebook thread so you can take a screenie and post it in the random thread? lots of those these days, both pointless and a waste of time... I just wasted my time posting about it :(

The way avoid getting sacked:
A) Don't use Facebook
B) Don't add people you work with
C) Don't post crap about work on Facebook
D) Don't post crap about people you work with on Facebook
E) Change your privacy settings

I quit facebook (full deletion) last year without any remorse. I'm not a social person anyway and only amassed friends due to having a memorable surname plus I a bit of a nutter back in school.

These relationship things are trivial normally and if people can't handle these trivial matters becasue they don't trust each other then they are obviously not suited. Being stupid enough to bitch about work on there will get you what you deserve too.

My private life is just that, private. Facebook opens its doors for you to publicise everything about yourself and it's only fair people will take advantage of that. Much easier to stay under the radar and anti-social tbh.

No, I do not subscribe to social networking sites as I think they are pointless.

that's interesting - why are you so against social networking websites?

pretty sure my old bosses found my facebook page, which in turn allowed them to find my web blog, which found several references to the company. It was data entry for a temp job and i was back to work the following week at my current job (that was over two years ago)

Learnt from my mistakes, made profile private and got rid of web blog, job done. Was a blessing in disguise!

I love facebook :)

However I keep the info to a bare minimum and I think I have the privacy settings set up right.

I generally dont post stuff on my profile that will get me into trouble, there is personal messages for .. personal messages.

I have been kicked off facebook before but that was because my flatmate totally abused my profile and had all sorts of pictures posted up... illegal pictures to say the least :p

Some people may as well have their bank details on their profile they advertise themselves so well

Don't post stupid stuff on facebook. Simples...
