Facebook chat?

Hi guys

Within the last 2 weeks iv been having problems useing facebook chat via my laptop and phone, My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S runing the offical facebook app.

I can go online showing a green light fine and see people as being online no problems on both devices but i allways show as being offline to them

Does anyone have any clues as to what is going on here? I have tried aps like eBuddy ect i can sign in fine show green light and no one can see my online

Iv been to my privacy settings on facebook and all seems fine to me unless iv missed something :confused:

Please help

Mine is exactly the same. No matter where I use it and what device I use it on, people always randomly go offline (even though I can still receive messages from them and see that they're actually typing) Refreshing the pages usually fixes it, but it happens every five minutes.

So you're using the latest Facebook app for Android phones?

If so it may, in all seriousness, be worth re-installing Facebook!

I think it's a problem on their end, load of people including me have problems with it!

The same happens with me. Be it using the website, the FB app on my iPhone or Trillian. FB Chat is just crap.

I can get private messages fine its just the chat im allways offline on evan tho its saying im online :/

Yeah thats the one im useing and iv allready tried that 3 times, Im getting the same problem on my laptop as allways being offline to people evan tho it says on my end as being online

same here. im on a desire HD, and the facebook chat part of the app is rubbish. it keeps convo's open even though i manually close them and stuff.

It's always had problems. As soon as it gets close to bug-free they release a new updated Facebook and the bug count is right back where they started.

It's been borderline useless for me too lately, both on the website and on the ipod touch app. It's even forced me to use msn messenger again!

Not really had any problems with it, ive just found it completly useless most of the time.

Everyone goes on about it being amazing although I still prefer msn to it.

Only keep the people I actually want to talk too on msn so kinda fits my purpose.

My facebook acts a bit weird if the URL has /#!/ in it. I just take it out and it seems to fix it.

Do you have your contacts sorted in lists? I had a similar problem before and all i had to do to fix it was to remove my friends lists.
