Facebook spam?

I keep getting loads of spam messages on facebook. Many people appear to be writing on my wall "How to see who viewed your profile!!" I get loads of other spam like this, like people opening chat conversations with me like this: "hey, I saw this awesome site, check it out! [link to spam/phishing site]"

Obviously I don't click any of the links

Who has the spam infected account? Is it me or these other people?

This thread isn't for the facebook hate brigade etc etc...

Facebook is pathetic IMO.
I found LOADS of my school friends, and each person had 5+ friends in common all from the same city so I started adding them, must have hit 'Add Friend' to 8 different people then I get: "Please Log In" so I logged back in and it said my friend requests and messages have been blocked for 2 days...WTF!!! How are you meant to add friends if you cant add aload? It's stupid...

yeah ive seen quite a few "see who viewed your profile the most" over the last couple of days, doesnt actually do it just spams lots of people.

It's apps your mates have got, hover over the post. Click the cross in the top right and then select hide all messages from such&such app.

This one is different, it makes an Event and invites you to it, so it's not an app
