Here's a tip: if anyone here ever invents the next social-medium. Please don't let the general riff-raff run amock. It's happened time and time again and it inevitably causes the medium's death for a large demographic; just take a look at Bebo, MySpace, and now Facebook. Crappy applications, horrible flashing graphics and queues of idiots who choose to ignore every rule of the English language in an attempt to look 'cool' to other idiots.

Don't be friends with idiots. When it was just Uni students there was none of this on there admittedly, but even now the riff raff are on it you can simply not accept their friends requests and block anyone who does start requesting you play Mafia.
 
Actually facebook as one great upside, and that is, it's the reason RATM got Christmas Number 1.

Facebook - once you ignore a few annoying applications/remove some of the more persistant offenders from friends list, is quite good... you can't really compare it to myspace, bebo, etc. quite the same.

Were you using facebook when it was university invite-only? If you were then you'd probably understand; it was much better before the mob got ahold of it. I'm not trying to say it was better when it was this esoteric, elitist application. Far from it, it's just before it was simple. Now, it's all glitter and sodding sparkles with a healthy mix of self-obsession and illiteracy. When I use facebook now, I despair at how ****ed up our race really is. Before I at least has the illusion that it wasn't that bad.
 
I used to be entirely anti-application installing, but I've come to appreciate Scrabble recently. Flexes the brain a little more than MafiaFarms.

I do miss old university-only Facebook!
 
Ahh.. I was pretty confused... only actually seen a few of these, 2 from girls 1 from a guy I know :-o... thanks for the info tbh

Back then it was awesome. It really has descended into a mess nowadays. I still logon but not so regular as when I was at uni.
