Facebook - Tip for eradicating the new horrible photo viewer

Hi All,

My girlfriend was moaning about this this morning.

I took a quick look and found a way of reverting back to the old photo viewer..

When clicked into an image, and the new photo viewer is displayed on the page - at the very end of the URL will be "&theater"

Delete &theater and press enter, this should take you right back to the old one.

Thought some of you might find this useful..

Thanks for that but i see that it only works once and you got to repeat the same thing over again.

Anyway going back the old way in settings? This new format just looks rubbish. GAY!

This seems to refresh the page in the background, and not bring up the new photo viewer for her...

Who knows - She'll have to live with it / do it the &theater way.

Seems like every 5 months sites like FB change things that worked bloody fine for no apparent reason.

Ah yes, I forgot about the part where making it harder to look through pictures on facebook was on par with the invention of the wheel.

I don't understand the hate for the new photo viewer. In terms of functionality it is pretty much the same as it always has been, apart from it appears in a modal window as opposed to its own page.

The benefits of photos appearing in a modal window, in my mind, outweigh needing photos to sit on their own page.

Yeah, Facebook's new photo viewer is as significant as THE WHEEL. :rolleyes:
