What about if you have a beta of 4.5.0?

You need to upgrade to 4.5.1 first and then sign out, you then need to temporarily disable you Internet connection and then uninstall it. Enable your Internet again and download the 4.5.3 installer and then you should be fine.

The beta version of 4.5.0 was streamlined and didn't come with all the language packs installed. Upgrading straight from the 4.5.0 beta to the latest stable version, 4.5.3, could yield problems similar to those peterattheboro seems to be experiencing.

It's worth a shot, but if you experience problems with the language component a fresh install will be necessary

Edit: RobH has the alternative recommended method. Upgrading via 4.5.1 will install the missing language packs.

When I updated mine to the latest version, all the text was in chinese.

Uninstalled it and reinstalled but it's still the same :s

Ahh, so that's why facebook looks all different! I haven't been on there in months and now everythings split into loads of boxes! I think I prefer it how it was, it's a shame you can't use an old version of facebook if you prefer it... It's just updated itself without even asking!

No just re-install the internet.

By the way, facebook require that you have WEB 2.0 installed before it will run, there are some hacks to get it running on earlier versions but I would not recommend it as the experience is far from enjoyable.
