Yeah I think your best off not touching the front windows at all.
Any tips for removing the left over glue? Thinking I've buying some Glue Gone or some tar remover and giving that a go

If hot water doesn't work give some WD40 a try.

Also found Carpro Tar-X exceptionally good at removing glue (number plates etc).

I had dark tints on my Civic but it also has a large panoramic roof. Every time I saw a copper I opened up the blinds to let as much light in as possible.
