I cooked some of the mr brains faggots yesterday to try and i thought they were disgusting. I tried a little bit of one and just hated it so naturally didn't eat any more,even the smell was bad .. its like I could smell the cheap meat.

To be honest Mr. Brains are I think a pee-poor faggot and yes they do smell of cheap crap that's been scraped off the floor of the abbertoir.

Not uncommon for your local butcher to have their own faggot which are probably vastly superior to Mr. Brains.

I used to love Faggots as a kid, the same way I loved tinned meatballs, tinned spaghetti bolognese and tinned macaroni cheese. I can't eat any of those things now. I had faggots years ago as I took a right notion for them when I was walking through the supermarket. Got home and cooked them only for them to go straight in the bin after one gobful.

Try some proper home made ones. Some chip shops sell home made ones. Just look out for them.

It's getting worse than that. Some people will not buy cheap cuts of meat and only buy fillet. As they think the cheap cuts are bad :confused:

people just have no idea about meat these days. Fillet steak is a total waste of time and really rubbish in stews. Yet some people do this.

too right, I've only once bought fillet, nowadays I don't bother. I think that has all come from people being scared of eating fat.

fillet is great if flash cooked as it is extremely tender. But compared to other cuts has very little flavour. It's all about using the right cut for the right dish.
