What is it with people using these phrases so much ?

Every other thread i see things like:

-You Fail
-Thread fails
- For the win

It is really annoying - why do people do it ? It's not like it is even funny... every time I see one I just cringe.

I work for the NHS so yes I know it fairly well.

Why are you so interested in my signature anyway out of interest ?
