Again, why should people who didn't need this kick up the rear have their achievments belittled by those who just couldn't be bothered?

Students have to apply to university with their AS grades and are punished as such.

I got a D at A level Physics which I'm still insecure about, but it was my own laziness and lackluster attempt at my A2 levels that drove it to this.

There are other reasons why people fail exams, other than lack of effort. Should they be refused a resit?

Its perfectly readable, i unlike you it appears have better things to do that make sure my english is perfect when posting on an internet forum. O and by the way got 2 A's at english GCSE

For option 1 you will most likely get a B overall.

I'm sorry, but your seriously saying that resit, which means you have to do better to get better, is not as good a way as just 'appealing' and being given the better grade for no extra work at all Your bonkers!

I have never until recently, it was a "Communication" exam.. I had done mocks and passed every time.. when it came to the actual thing I failed, the teachers thought I did it on purpose, I had another go and failed again.

Still not passed yet, the annoying thing is that this exam is crucial.. it is the ticket onto a higher level course, I'm going for an interview soon. Will be interesting if they let me on or not.

I should make clear i dont think you should be allowed to resit. If you can't be bothered the first time round thats your own fault(i fall into that catergory, without resits i would have got BCC instead of BBB).

They are 16. They all drink etc etc.

They should maybe, just maybe, be aware of how these exam things are important.

personally i believe that the fact ~50 years of your life are determined by exams that you do as a kid in the first 16-18 years of your life, is enough justice to provide resits if needs be.
