Hello,
Below is a list my computer's components and operating system.
OS Windows Vista x64 Ultimate SP2
Processor Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @ 2.5 GHz
RAM 8Gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800MHz
Motherboard EVGA nForce 750i ***
Graphics 2 x EVGA GTX260
Hard Drives 2 x 150 GB Western Digital Velociraptor RAID 0 (OS)
1 x 320 GB Western Digital Caviar Black (Data)
Sound ASUS Xonar D2X
Power Tagan PipeRock 900W
DVD Sony DRU-190A ATA
One of the Velocirators of my RAID 0 setup is failing and causing NVRAIDSERVICE to fail. I tried unsuccessfully to fix the problem, here is how I got to where I am today.
Noticed problem, decided upon a fresh OS and drivers, so I formatted and reinstalled the operating system, my computer was still pants.
Deleted the RAID setup and installed the OS on to each Velociraptor in turn, all service packs installed, all drivers installed, no problems whatsoever.
Rebuilt the RAID setup about 2/3 weeks ago with a few little problems, SMART informing me one of the drives of my RAID setup is failing at start up, however I'm not noticing any performance problems at all, games have been installed, video converting all works fine. Mcafee doing it's system scan the other day produced loads of problems with NVRAIDSERVICE almost constantly. Nosing around trying to find a solution, I have set my hard disk to never be turned off in the "Power Settings", this gave a little improvement and reduced the number of error messages.
Every time I start I have SMART informing me of a HD about to fail. Has anyone else had a similar experience with similar hardware?
Thanks
Scott
