Failing HDD?

Hey guys, trying to recover a 19GB .ost file from an ancient windows xp HDD, I have it plugged into my pc and it reads it fine, i try and copy the .ost from the HDD to my main HDD, gets to about 99% and then says failed, destination source is unreadable, has anyone got any idea what to do? D:

Literally just compress the ost and move it? won't that just cause more ****ups?

I would try zipping or raring it to see if it will transfer if not the there must be damage in the last sector it is trying to copy

Seems to have zipped, moved and unzipped fine, when I tried to import it into outlook it said it was damaged and what appears to be a built in tool, microsoft outlook inbox recovery is now scanning it

An ost is an offline copy of your mailbox - normally I'd expect mail to be stored in a pst. Do you still have access to the mailbox to redownload an offline copy?
