I have had the S9000 A3 colour printer for a good few years now, and it has been excellent (except when I tried non genuine carts in it !...lesson learnt).

It knocks out full A3 colour photo's in a few mins. That look as good as what photobox send me.
But now has Service error code 5200..... and locks up after a few mm of printing.
The online suggestions of resetting, removing print head etc have not fixed it.

So, could be new head, circuit board or new printer !!! A new printer is not going to be cheap for sure.......(I guess they have gone up as well now !!) But which one, the new 10 ink printers look good, but with so many carts to replace seem expensive to run.

Any suggestions or recommendations ?

Seen some Canon i9950, which uses the same ink as my S9000, (BCI6) so I could use the spare cartridges I have.... Anyone got or used the i9950, what's it like, should be an upgrade from mine, and not so much cost as a second hand purchase.
Or Hold out/save for a Pixma Pro9500 ?
