Failing to boot with GPU plugged in

Hey,

I recently took my PC with me on my travels for Christmas. Today I've plugged it all back in at home and it fails to boot, in fact it fails to even display the boot screen. I am getting the error code B2 on the mobo. After removing the GPU and changing the boot settings to use the onboard graphics, it boots up fine. I then tried to plug the GPU back in and boot using onboard graphics so that I could try and flash the BIOS on the GPU however the peripherals don't work at all and I can't get past the windows login screen. I'm guessing this is a problem with my GPU? It's a bit old and I don't mind replacing it, I just want to make sure its not something else, or that I'm missing something before I go and replace it.

Any advice would be great, thanks!

Yeah, it was left in. I can't see any visible damage, but I've tried the card in the other PCIe slot and it gives the same problem. The most common suggestion online is to update my BIOS but it's already at the latest non beta release.

I'm borrowing one off a colleague tomorrow, kind of hoping its the GPU and not a broken mobo. Turns out Z77 mobos are quite hard to get hold of.

The thing that seems weird to me is that the peripherals don't work when the card is plugged in. I'm using the on board graphics and it all displays fine, but the peripherals just dont respond. Weird...
